Move your app · Replit
Deploy your Replit app to your own server and accounts
Replit's Agent builds an Express server that also serves the pages, with sign-in and storage of Replit's own. The server runs anywhere; the Replit-only parts have to change before it leaves.

What carries over
The server and pages, on your own server, and its database code as it is: both use DATABASE_URL. The data comes across with launchpad db restore.
What to watch for
Sign-in with Replit accounts and Replit's own storage only work on Replit, so they change first. The server listens on port 5000 unless told otherwise.
Launchpad recognises a Replit app by .replit, replit.md or replit.nix, or Replit's Vite plugins in package.json, and adjusts what it sets up before anything is created.
The steps
- Download the app as a zip, or push it to GitHub, and run the free launch check.
- Ask Replit's Agent to make the changes the check lists: sign-in, storage, the port.
- In Replit's Shell, export the database: pg_dump -Fc --no-owner --no-privileges "$DATABASE_URL" > replit.dump.
- Import the repository in Launchpad, deploy to your own server, and load the data with launchpad db restore replit.dump.
Problems Replit apps hit, and their fixes
- Replit Auth and Replit storage don't work outside Replit
- Deploy fails its health check: the server always listens on port 5000
Questions
Why not Vercel?
A Replit app is one Express server serving both its API and its pages. That runs as it is on a server of your own; on Vercel it would need reorganising into functions first.
Do my users come along?
Their data does. Accounts made with Replit sign-in can't: that sign-in only works on Replit, so users sign up again with the new one.
Is Launchpad part of Replit?
No. Launchpad is an independent product by Axonscape. It isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Replit; it recognises apps made with it so moving them is easier.
